A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to inactive addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an out-of-date address or has made a mistake. The drawback of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of junk messages, but this problem can be fixed by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It is also crucial to keep in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

If you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you have a cloud hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel offers quite a lot of features, but it’s incredibly easy to use, so setting up a catch-all mailbox requires just one click. All the email addresses that you have created will be displayed in this section in alphabetical order and you will simply need to click the "Catch-all" button associated with the concrete address. Our system will notify you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either disable the latter feature or select another mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all feature is just as simple and takes yet another mouse click on the exact same button.
